About
After years in the tree care industry, I’ve come to the realization that what the industry needs most is a solid foundation of ethics. Early in my career, I witnessed plenty of unethical work. Removing healthy trees deemed as “hazardous” and trimming trees that should have just been left alone all for the sake of profit.
Years ago while reading “ A Sand County Almanac” by Aldo Leopold I came across a passage that truly struck me. He stated “A conservationist is one who is humbly aware that with each (stroke of the axe) he is writing his signature on the face of the land.” What Aldo understood was that careful consideration should be placed when making decisions about trees to remove and trees to keep, as these choices affect properties and communities for generations. It is something I try to remember daily.
I have been a Maryland licensed tree expert since 2008 and an ISA certified arborist since 2010.
